Notes from BusterLand: The Fine Art of Nonsequitur

Hey, Blog-buddies--it's theBuster back at the keyboard. Ms. Persephone has given me a challenge.

The Dark Goddess of the Nether Regions has asked me to fashion a narrative out of some never-before-seen images, two of which were taken today and two of which were taken sometime prior to that.

So my non-linear intellect is going to work on this. Let's see what happens...

These feet + two more have walked over the river and through the woods to Gram's house many times...
I dream of the lake many nights as I snooze..sort of feels like I'm rocking in a boat -- on the lake ... it's calling me.....
as in "when I'm calling YOUuuuuoooouuuuoooooooo..........
Just for the record my Gram has the best lake and I am sooooo ready to go swimming...especially after all this 94+ degree weather here...I'm thinking I need to go up to the lake to at least check it out! Make sure it's still there! Make sure it's still rippling! Just to make sure.

--------------------->

Here I am just sailing over the ripples of life... I mean sailing on Gram's pond and I get to think about lots of stuff...
Like, where do rocks come from? How come glaciers make little lakes like this and leave rocks on the bottom? how come there isn't sand down there instead of rocks? and gee what about clouds? cloudy clouds -- now where do they come from? the humomm said they were water..but I'm sitting in a boat on the water not in the sky in water!
Man, all these really deep watery... I mean really deep thoughts, just keep flying over and smacking me in my bearded, loveable mooosh...notice the pink tongue?
When I'm thinking it kinds peeks out from the big toothy maw.

I think <-----yeh, I really do use my brain. Hey, check this out.. you can see all the rocks at the bottom.. and then there are rocks floating------------> wHOOOooooo0000 It's "Rock Man"...the little known harbinger of springtime (don't tell Persephone I saw him <----she'll think I've lost it completely...) How did they get "Rock Man" to float anyway? I thought rocks were heavier then water...but then again it probably depends on how much water to how many rocks.... uh..... To get back to the "Rock Man"... it appears he fell off his stool while drinking his coffee and reading the newspaper...uh -- what's wrong with this picture...exactly where did the newspaper machine come from? Hmmmmmmm....pondering.......more pondering.......ok...I guess it came from the side of the street? Sounds about right...to continue to address the
"Rock Man" would probably not help my situation would it?

Now check out this nasty little kitty fish. UHhuh...that's what I said, a kitty cat-fish in the water...well the toxic green fluid that could possibly be water... It certainly isn't my Gram's little lake which is nice and clear and cool and lovely...
this stuff is just really noxious-toxic looking...
Have you ever seen a fish with whiskers? Well folks here it is... a whiskered fish in noxious green water...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
well Persephone... random enough??

theTWINS have a birthday!

Wellllll this announcement is a bit late, but it's real hard to pin down the humomm right now, many deadlines and only 3 more weeks left to warp her students' minds -- so I finally twisted her arm to help me with the post of the year!!! which would be --------->The Twins have a birthday!!

I, Ms.Blue, was there! I'm the dog mom and I still think of them as my little pups.
•••
theTWINS were born in the clouds (the humomm built their box and painted it so they would have....."visual stimulation"). I think the clouds must have worked -- they both are very visual, Ms.Persephone watches t.v. and theBUSTER is the season pick for the Red Sox catcher of the year! (do they use Wilson's??)
Can you tell which one is which!!! You'd know that nose anywhere!
Now to embarrass one of them ... (real easy to tell who this is).
I, Ms.Blue, can do this
&
get away with it!

Puppy pictures----------->
can make just about anyone
blush... talk about zonked out!
He was
just the
cutest
little guy!
&
still is very handsome!
HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY TO MY PUPS, theBUSTER & Ms.Persephone <--------------Twins extraordinaire !
With much love, slurps and whurls....your mom <-----Ms. Blue
peee esss...
We did celebrate w/much excitement --
but more celebration will occur this weekend
when the weather is not so soggy.
Stay tuned for an update on the festivities!

Brief Reflections on the All-Too-Slow Arrival of Spring

Ms. Bailey here, with a couple of spurious observations...

Warning: this will be pretty random!

1. The female of the species Canis familiaris is the natural predator. Do not be fooled by protestations to the contrary.

2. The male of the species is a natural clown. He has not lost his ability to create a full-length comic opera with no props other than a little round, yellow ball.

3. The only other species, to my knowledge, with an equal penchant for clowning is
Mergus merganser, a large diving duck with an outlandish appetite for fish and an instinct for general all-around silliness. Here's a quick clip taken by Buster on one of his Clown-Observation expeditions:

Enough for now... I'm still waiting for my primate mom to help me with an epistle of more substance. She's fallen asleep, so I guess we'll have to wait 'til tomorrow!

Ciao for now,

Bailey

l'Affaire du Canard

Blogbuddies--

It's theBuster here, with a tale of breathtaking bravery, staunch heroism, and the preservation of civilization as we know it--thanks to...ME!!

It came to pass, during the melting of the Glacier and the coming of more temperate times to subarctic Connecticut, that a foe of daunting power threatened the land. Mustering his forces over the long winter, protected by tropical breezes, this vile creature set out to lay waste to our peaceful settlement. He planned his next move with nefarious patience. I shudder to think of what might have been!

Its name cannot be uttered without inducing terror and trembling.

It was...

THE DUCK !!

Notice the maniacal look in his eyes....

HAH! the humomm is showing me a sleeping duck...trying to make me think it is a soft friendly sort of animal. But, I know the truth!

Ducks are scheming -- Ducks have shifty eyes -- I was not born yesterday I readily see a foe.

But the humomm is still trying to fool me into believing it's a soft sleeping soul. Do ducks have souls? They certainly have big feet...

This insult will not stand! Buster the Wonder Dawg must take prompt and conclusive action!

Now, I will not burden the more sensitive members of my public with the details of what subsequently happened. Needless to say, it was not pretty. Two photos will suffice.

Have a Happy Easter!!

True colors Thursday.....Black & White!

We've decided that black and white will be fun -- we wanted Ms.Persephone to paint herself white, and she was not very happy to do so--hmmmmmmmmm.....
so I allowed myself to be reinvented ...

Well, it's not
really me--it's a rare
and totally ferocious BUstorFULus.
A BUstorFULus is a medium-size animal of the little-known genus, Buff...
which is a sound
they continually make
whilst
asking
for,
or better yet,
demanding
to be fed!
Be very careful not
to be around at feeding time...
All of those white tubes
have little suction cups
at the ends and will attach
in a flash! You may disappear at
any moment if you are sucked in.

Buff buff buff........buff... buff...
buff.

Each time the BUstorFULus says "buff," another
dot appears on the silky dark blue coat. At night, they glow so that the very rare BUstorFULus
can find his way home.

Here is the very dangerous "whiplash tongue" attached
within the "scary" BUstorFULus mouth...
It has writing on it but pay no attention to it...
This is still a very rare and somewhat dangerous BUstorFULus...
with a white Wilson <----now that's also pretty rare.... we haven't seen very many white tennis balls lately. Lest we move too fast.... we have to introduce you to yet another truly terrifying specimen....Notice the
one wild eye.... This is considered an "all seeing eye".... Usually only found in the females!

This very rare SephAlopOgus kinda floats everywhere she wants to go....A bit of an airhead...
(oops I didn't really say that...oh no, I'm in trouble now!).

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

theBUSTER, with the help of Ms. Blue.....and also
a very quick walk on

Un Sonetto per la mia Bella Lucia (Recited in a Guinness-Inflected Irish Brogue)

Alas, it is Spring--and I, theBUSTER, I mean Busterigo... am besotted! My lovely Lucia lingers in my mind, and I think of birds and flowers and gentle breezes <---- and playing Buster Ball.

Bella dolce Lucia-- heavy sigh...like isn't she just soooooooo-cute?

Il Prete Rosso, (commonly known as, Antonio Vivaldi), composed a series of sonnets to accompany his most well-known concerto, The Four Seasons.

Antonio needs a mustache..

Vivaldi would compose extraordinary violin music for the orphan girls at the Conservatorio dell'Ospedale della Pietà in Venice. His music was evocative and fecund with sounds of nature (as in tweet-twortle-tweet & rushing water smacking into rocks, not to mention siroccos and boreal winds). In The Four Seasons, he accompanied his breathtaking music with sonnets that he had written. The first sonnet was about Springtime (that would be Persephone's Main Event). I must recite it to my Bella Lucia before I play the concerto! <---now how sappy is that, Lucia???
theBUSTER getting down w/the boys in the band.

La Primavera (Spring)

Allegro

Giunt' è la Primavera e festosetti
La Salutan gl' Augei con lieto canto,

E i fonti allo Spirar de' Zeffiretti

Con dolce mormorio Scorrono intanto:

Vengon' coprendo l' aer di nero amanto

E Lampi, e tuoni ad annuntiarla eletti

Indi tacendo questi, gl' Augelletti;

Tornan' di nuovo al lor canoro incanto:

Largo

E quindi sul fiorito ameno prato
Al caro mormorio di fronde e piante

Dorme 'l Caprar col fido can' à lato.

Allegro

Di pastoral Zampogna al suon festante
Danzan Ninfe e Pastor nel tetto amato

Di primavera all' apparir brillante.

Ah--La mia bella Lucia! Here it is in English:

Spring - Sonnet
Allegro

Springtime is upon us.
The birds celebrate her return with festive song,

and murmuring streams are softly caressed by the breezes.

Thunderstorms, those heralds of Spring, roar, casting their dark mantle over heaven,

Then they die away to silence, and the birds take up their charming songs once more.

Largo

On the flower-strewn meadow, with leafy branches rustling overhead, the goat-herd
sleeps, his faithful dog beside him.

Allegro

Led by the festive sound of rustic bagpipes, nymphs and shepherds lightly dance
beneath the brilliant canopy of spring.

Kinda makes me want to go out and dig holes in the garden! My heart gets all fluttery (do blue dogs blush????-- and when they do is it purple?). Thinking deep thoughts again... ah well
amore and springtime makes that happen.

Busterigo, aka theBUSTER

pee essss ------> the gurls had nothing to do with this.. in fact they are giggling in the background. And this is what I have to put up with. B
double pee essss ------>so what can I say folks, we have an active inner-life :O/

Dancing with the dogs & Playing in Central Park

The Rainbow-wow room was pretty spectacular. The closest thing to it may be some of the bigger dog shows held in the conference center hotels... but not as pretty. We did get there a bit early because Ms.Persephone drives like a maniac...so we checked out the place.

Ms.Persephone borrowed the humomm's camera
and took a shot of Lucia and me.
Lucia had a couple of really neat dresses
this one had a golden paw print on the shoulder
<-------pretty neat I thought. Looked really nice with the bouquet of a dozen red Wilson Buster Balls I gave her. They were rather heavy -- but she was a trooper and she never complained. She is quite an amazing
dancer for such a young aireegurl.
I forgot to ask her if she was taking agility class.
I was too busy whispering in her ear!

Here's one of the bottles of wine I brought to warm us all up so we could dance...
and
dance
and dance some more...

It sure was fun to meet all our blog-buddies and
sit and toast all of us...one by one.... we went through
a number of bottles------------------------->
toasting this and toasting that..and toasting each other
you know, just having lots of fun.

So after the wine and dance, Persephone led us to Central Park to take a run. We ran for hours, checking everything out and taking turns chasing one another!

Then, Lucia fell down the rabbit-hole!

But I rescued her... I wonder why those kids were laughing so hard.

Lucia has lots of energy and wasn't tired at all--even after dancing all night--so after a couple of hours, we all decided to "borrow" a hansom cab....and trot trot trot back to from whence we came. Ms. Persephone, of course, was in the driver's seat...talking to the horse. Lucia and I were snuggling in the cab.

We all had a great time and are ready to go back just to play in the park.
So that's some of what we did last week!

theBUSTER, Ms.Persephone & Ms. Blue <---I got to stay home... ∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆

True Colors Thursday, SCARLET!!!

WhOOOoooooo000... I like Scarlet...

"Why scarlet...I don't give a damn!"

Of course she is wearing a lovely scarlet dress made from her drapes--------------------------->

Here's our humomm's x-mas present...A very scarlet Amaryllis.... These flowers died off
and within a short period of time the
plant had another
beeeUteeful repeat of these flowers!
So she got a very prolific flower!
Isn't this a fantastic color?

I , Ms.Persephone, certainly do like it. In fact I think
I'll wear one in my ear.

Maybe it will attract a
boy-dog friend.

Here's a picture of some trees at the college this past fall ('08)....very scarlet leaves!

---------------------------------------->

Absolutely no post, about "Scarlet",
would be complete
without
a little picture of Ms. Blue
and
her scarlet
"bear" jacket.
Here she is, checking out
her acreage -- looking for small varmints to chase...and make
her day just a little bit exciting.

I have to include a picture of theBUSTER'S
picola Lucia and her new "scarlet"
collar!! She looks so cute in scarlet!

And LOOK!!!!! Her new
BUSTER BALL
is scarlet... matches the collar!!!

Well... I was going to look for more scarlet "things" but have run out of time..
got to make this a thursday post!!!
Happy True Colors Day • Scarlet
